FAQs

ADOPTING!

  • How do I get rats from you?
    • You’re 18 or older and fill out an application when it’s opened! Minors must have a legal guardian fill out all forms and acompany to pickup.
    • You’ve displayed leg work and research done on keeping rats, up to date care, etc, as well as respected information and guidance I’ve provided.
    • Your application is filled out fully and honestly! Lack of doing so will result in the application being denied.
    • You’ve sent time stamped and dated photos of your cage setup to me via FB or email!
    • I’ve messaged you to approve your application and setup and go over any questions!
    • You then get to reserve rats when they’re posted, with a non-refundable deposit.
    • We setup a time for you to get your rats!

HEALTH GUARANTEE

  • I guarantee the rats you purchase are of the correct and same sex.
  • I guarantee rats leaving my rattery are healthy and parasite free to the best of my knowledge. All rats will have been treated with preventative Revolution prior to going home.
  • New home sniffles are normal for the first week or so and are caused by large stressors and changes in environment. Rats will be sent home with a small care kit to aid in this new home transition.
  • Females are guaranteed to not be pregnant upon leaving, or to have been paired with any males prior to leaving.
  • Rats are to be kept on the appropriate bedding with adequate ammonia and odor control. Rats kept on Carefresh/fluffy paper or fleece alone will automatically void and respiratory health guarantee.
  • Failure to properly quarantine new rats from existing rats will void any health guarantee. This includes bringing in new rats from other sources than my rattery.
    • Proper quarantine involves 6 weeks, minimum, in a separate airspace. No shared supplies or cross handling between groups. This means handling new rats last in the day as well.
    • Quarantine is essential for the health and well being of the new rats and your current rats. Stress from moving can cause flareups of a vairety of issues. It also helps prevent possible pathogens or parasites from transferring to either party from said stress, or with possible asymptomatic carriers.
  • I may offer return or replacement at my discretion, on a case-by-case basis.
